BRAD REARDON | PRESIDENT | CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Brad Reardon founded Compass in 2005. Prior to founding Compass, he held positions with Stryker, Synths Spine and Ameritox. Mr. Reardon graduated with an Economics degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and continues with a passion in genetics and clinical test development. Mr. Reardon is very involved in local politics and the Memphis incubator and innovation movement.
DIVYEN PATEL, Ph.D. | CHIEF SCIENTIFIC OFFICER | PRESIDENT - GENOME EXPLORATIONS
Dr. Divyen Patel has focused his entire scientific career on trying to find novel and innovative ways to improve the outcome in cancer patients. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Leeds in England, publishing 14 publications as a graduate student, focusing on establishing definitive methods for diagnosis of myeloid leukemia. He joined the University of Tennessee in 1992 to study signal transduction to get a better understanding of the causative agents of various disease states. Dr. Patel started his work on differential gene expression in 1994 when he joined St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis TN where he utilized the rudimentary tools available to clone and characterize nucleoside transporter cDNAs. He subsequently initiated and ran the Affymetrix GeneChip microarray facility at St. Jude’s Hartwell Centre for Bioinformatics and Biotechnology. His extensive experience and background in the field of gene expression research has allowed him to help many investigators further their research projects.
CHARLES HANDORF, Ph.D. | CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER
Dr. Charles Handorf has over 37 years experience in clinical laboratory medicine. He is the retired Professor and Chair of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and has published widely with focus on new and emerging technologies. Additionally, he has served in numerous capacities in regional and national organizations, including President of the Tennessee Medical Association and founding chair of the Alternate Site Testing Committee of the College of American Pathologists. Dr. Handorf earned his medical degree and his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Tennessee and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.
PATRICK LOWERY | CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Patrick Lowery holds a Bachelors of Business Administration and a Masters of Accountancy from Millsaps College. He manages the company’s finances, managed care relationships and IT department. Prior to Compass, Mr. Lowery practiced public accounting for over a decade. Outside of work, Mr. Lowery stays busy spending time with his wife and son, watching sports, hunting and fishing.
